Synopsis:
In this classic pre-Code short film, comedy’s most iconic duo, Laurel and Hardy, find themselves in a literal run for their lives. After being pursued by the police for vagrancy, Stan and Ollie duck into a seemingly vacant, luxurious mansion to hide.
The plot thickens when they realize the house belongs to a wealthy colonel who has just departed on a long hunting safari. When potential tenants arrive to lease the property, the duo must think fast to avoid discovery. What follows is a chaotic masquerade: Ollie adopts the persona of the sophisticated “Colonel Buckshot,” while Stan is forced to pull double duty, frantically switching costumes to play both the prim butler and a very suspicious-looking maid.
As the “prospective renters” grow increasingly confused by the household’s bizarre behavior, Stan and Ollie must maintain the charade or face the law—all while navigating the physical comedy and linguistic blunders that define their legendary partnership.
