Synopsis:
In this 1932 classic, Stan and Ollie play two sailors on shore leave who find themselves in a world of trouble the moment they step off their ship. Seeking a room for the night, they check into a dilapidated hotel run by the menacing, short-tempered Mugsy Long.
The duo’s plans for a quiet stay are upended when they discover Mugsy is trying to force the young hotel maid into a marriage she doesn’t want. Ever the chivalrous (if clumsy) heroes, Stan and Ollie help the girl escape, but in the process, they lose their luggage and their money.
To solve their financial woes, Ollie comes up with a “brilliant” plan: he enters Stan into a professional boxing match for a cash prize. The situation turns dire when Stan enters the ring and realizes his opponent is none other than a vengeful, bloodthirsty Mugsy. Stan is forced to use every accidental trick in the book to survive the bout and secure their escape.
