Directed by Shigehiro Ozawa, The Street Fighter’s Last Revenge (1974) is the explosive conclusion to the original trilogy. While it maintains the series’ signature brutality, it adds a layer of suave, spy-thriller intrigue to Sonny Chiba’s most iconic role.
The Plot
Master mercenary Terry Tsurugi is back, and this time he is embroiled in a web of corporate espionage and political blackmail. The story kicks off when Tsurugi is hired to steal a set of mysterious cassette tapes containing incriminating evidence against a major chemical company. The tapes also happen to hold the secret to a formula for synthetic heroin, making them the most dangerous prize in the criminal underworld.
True to form, Tsurugi is quickly double-crossed by his employers. However, this time he faces more than just local thugs; he is hunted by a specialized team of international assassins, including a formidable fighter from Chicago. To survive, Tsurugi must employ a series of elaborate disguises and master new, even more lethal techniques as he wages a one-man war against the Syndicate to reclaim his payment—and his honor.
